DHM- und GIS-basierte Modellierung des zeitlich-räumlichen Verlaufs eines Überschwemmungsereignisses am Rhein

In the test area situated in the floodplain of the River Rhine in the city of Cologne three scenario calculations had been carried out to
forecasting the extent and timing of inundation after an embankment breach. E.g., one scenario demonstrates the effect of a mobile barrier used for flood protection. The GIS Software ArcViewTM has been applied for the generation of the required input data (DEM and derived hydrological parameter). The required DEM has been derived from a data set of irregularly distributed height points, obtained by laser scanner.


The resulting figures of a szenario in a quasi-3D-representation are available for download as an animated GIF ("floodcologne_s.gif", 1,3 MB).
