The combination of a GIS and integrated models for the calculation of the air
pollutant emissions and - concentrations within the urban areas may be described
on the basis the following example application.
|
1. Definition of the area of interest
- Developing digital city maps (raster or vector data)
- Selection of street segments to be investigated (e.g. by combining of
traffic census data and land use data)
|
2. Calculation of traffic emission using IMMISem
and acquisition of additional emission
|
- Localization of the sources of emission (point sources, line sources, area
sources)
- Combining street segments (line sources) with traffic census data or traffic
models
- Calculation of traffic induced emissions
- Inclusion of other emission data e.g. from emission inventories
|
|
3. Calculation of background concentration using IMMISnet
- Definition of the receptor positions
- Specification of the meteorological data
- Interpolation of the calculated concentrations
|
4.
calculation of air pollution in street canyons
(Screening using IMMISluft or single case investigations using IMMIScpb)
|
- Acquisition of street geometry
- Transfer of emission data
- Combination with spatial distributed background concentrations
|
5. Presentation of results
- Representation of calculated results as thematic maps
- Priority identification by combining e.g. calculated results with land use
data or population data
- Definition of scenarios
